Workshop on Aircraft-Stores Clearance
and Related Aeroelastic Phenomena

Welcome to the web page for the Workshop on Aircraft-Stores Clearance and Related Aeroelastic Phenomena. The purpose of this workshop is to draw together representatives of the test, research, and user communities to discuss challenges in the certification of aircraft/stores configurations for flight free of dangerous aeroelastic instabilities and for store separation in the presence of substantial aeroelastic deformations. This discussion may shed light on how to streamline and improve clearance processes and may foster new and useful collaborations. The workshop will be held at the Radisson Fort McDowell Resort in Fountain Hills, AZ on 16-17 May 2006, and will be followed by the Aerospace Flutter and Dynamics Council (AFDC) at the same location on May 18-19, 2006.

The workshop will consist of presentations, a panel discussion, and demonstrations of state-of-the-art software and hardware. The technical content of the workshop will cover six areas including current techniques and processes to analyze flutter and limit-cycle oscillation (LCO); proposed improvements to the current approaches; techniques and processes related to store ejection; research challenges with LCO; historical experiences with flutter and LCO related to stores; and programs and collaborations relevant to the workshop.

Registration deadline is April 28, 2006. If you would like to be considered as one of the limited number of presentations or demonstrations, please email an abstract in either MS-Word or PDF format by March 17, 2006 to both Dr. Charles Denegri (Charles.Denegri@eglin.af.mil) and Dr. Phil Beran (Philip.Beran@wpafb.af.mil).
