Perform a TRIM analysis and define the desired component loads using the LOADMOD bulk data card. Define the Mach number in the MKAEROZ card, and set the IDFLT field to refer to a TRIMFLT bulk data card. Define the flight condition (ALPHA, BETA, PRATE, QRATE, RRATE) in the TRIMFLT bulk data card, as well as setting any desired control surface deflections by referring to their respective AESURFZ/AESLINK bulk data cards. In the TRIM bulk data card, set NX, NY, NZ, PDOT, QDOT, and RDOT to be “FREE”. Define a single TRIMVAR bulk data card with TYPE=”THKCAM” and set its value to be 1.0 in the TRIM bulk data card.
For each desired component load to be measured, define a LOADMOD bulk data card. For each component load, create an associated TRIMFNC bulk data card that refers to the LOADMOD bulk data card. To compute only the integrated aerodynamic loads acting on the aerodynamic boxes, set TYPE=”AERO” in the TRIMFNC bulk data card. To include inertia loads in the component load computation as well, set TYPE=”FEM”.
Define a SET1 bulk data card that lists the ID numbers of all TRIMFNC bulk data cards, and refer to that SET1 bulk data card from the LOADSET field of the TRIM bulk data card.
